International market report design for the Ornamental Horticulture Roundtable Group.
The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) supports and speaks for over 1,400 garden retailers as well as growers, manufacturers, and landscapers as members.
In collaboration with the Ornamental Horticultural Roundtable Group (OHRG) they had produced a report called: “Horticulture in the Netherlands: an engine for the national economy and environment”.
The report design brief outlined the need for a solution to accommodate a range of different sections in a simple, engaging, authoritative way.
Together, we opted for a simple, five-column grid. A choice that offers visual interest with asymmetric layouts, as well as a clear journey across each spread.
We chose Source Sans Pro for body copy as outlined in the HTA identity guidelines.
Headlines were set in Baskerville to contrast the body copy and announce each section of the report with authority.
The final report is printed on uncoated stock. The reason for this choice of paper was to have an organic, tactile feel to the report as the HTA distributed it at an upcoming event.
A digital version produced with an interactive contents and references section that linked curious readers to other documents cited in the report.
