Bringing a hopeful edge to a dark subject with imperfect motion graphics.
The Oxfordshire County Council Domestic Abuse team commissioned DC Design Works to produce an animation to convey their new strategy to practitioners.
The brief emphasised a need for clean, simple visuals to represent the human element of an emotive subject, and provide a fresh look and feel for seasoned practitioners.
We proposed a visual style inspired by Saul Bass’ early film title work to bring an imperfect humanity and a sense of hope to the heavy subject matter.
The design process prioritised clarity and emotional resonance, to ensure key points of the new strategy were easily understood and remembered.
This project showcased the power of graphic design and motion graphics in addressing serious topics.
The blend of a classic visual style with modern animation techniques, resulted in a motion graphics piece that was informative, and inspired confidence in the service’s future.
